Unfortunately, we do not celebrate holidays with parties in the fourth grade. Parents in the past have always been so generous to offer their time and treats for the children.
Even though we don’t need treats or volunteers for holidays, there is another way to help. I reward students often with pencils, animal crackers, erasers, etc. If you would like, you and your child could purchase enough small rewards for the entire class or a large bag of animal crackers. Then, I will use them for behavior rewards. If you need some ideas for rewards, just let me know.
Also, I use peppermints (the hard white discs with red stripes) for the students to suck on during tests. Research shows that peppermint enhances learning. We go through a lot of peppermints! If you would like to donate a bag of mints along with or instead of other incentive rewards, it would be much appreciated!
